I've been thinking of becoming a volunteer firefighter.

On a related note -

I know the fires are awful and all that, but this shit is adorable.

Christmas was fun and kind of exhausting. I cooked a lot.
I made a gingerbread house too, which was a pretty epic feat.

Marly bought me the Sookie Stackhouse series, which is just about as fun as a book can get and I've nearly finished them.
I got other books too. Games, perfumes, homewares, Mac makeup, a beach umbrella.

Nothing else has been happening. I've missed so much class, it's terrible, but I'm so sick at the moment. My tonsils are so swollen I can't breath at certain angles.
And the weather is so nice! I want to go to the beach with my new beach umbrella, but my eyes and nose will flood when I look at the sunlight.
GUH.

So last year around this time, Tegans like "Dude, we should take up some martial arts for the new year. It will be kick ass and we can going around kicking ass."
And I'm like, "Yeah, okay. I guess." but I thought I'd hate it and just do it till I got bored.
But I loooooove it and I'm going for my blue belt on the 15th.

So I thought since TKD turned out so well, I should try something new next year.
An instrument or class or whatever.

[Poll #1303203]

I know I'm always going on about how musicians are the scum of the earth, but idk, it could be fun to learn an instrument.

ETA:
Or maybe volunteering somewhere.

I am so mad at Marly right now.

We had a date and he blew me off to go surfing with Dane.
He's gone surfing every fucking day this week.

This morning I'm like, "Your throat hurts, I'll get Indie ready and take him to playschool", and he's like "No no no, I want to go surfing before we go out, could you just get him ready?" - So I did, and Marly went. Then he calls up, and he's all "Hey, I want to go surfing for more than like, and hour, can we just go to out tomorrow?"
"... No, I'm working tomorrow."
"Oh, well, we can go another time. Danes here and I want to make out with him or something."

He even took my car, so I wouldn't leave the kitchen/laundry.
I could fucking stab him.

Things I am excited about.
by Razz Brown.

-Dollhouse.
I've been watching Angel and Firefly and Dr. Horrible, and maaaaaan, is this going to be the greatest show, or what? The casting looks super lame though. I'm also excited for the inevitable Whedon guest stars that will appear. I'm hoping for Nathan Fillion and Jonathan Woodward.

Speaking of Nathan Fillion, he would be a such a good Hal Jordon. They could just lighten his hair a bit. His face is much stronger than Ryan Goslings, less pointy and beady, with the big chin/jawline that superheroes seem to need to strike fear into the hearts of bad guys. I don't know, it seems like Captain Mal pretty much is Hal Jordon.
I like Ryan Gosling though.

-Halloween.
They have a new maze, and a zombie laser hunt! FUN. Roller-coasters and costumes and candy. This is pretty much my favourite day of the year. I'm going to bake halloween related cupcakes/pies etc, then stay up and watch horror movies.

-The 10 000 books that are being made into movies. At the top of my list is The Time Travellers Wife, The Lovely Bones, Where the Wild Things Are, Watchmen and Sherlock Holmes.
And other movies too. Australia and Revolutionary Road.

-Marly coming home tomorrow.
I seem to lose all purpose when I'm home alone. I watch porn and masturbate like twice a day. That's a lot for me. I've become amazingly efficient though, in case anyones wondering. I play videogames and have no one to clean up after or cook for. I would normally have Indie and Will, but they went away too. I have a feeling this is what bachelors live like. It sucks though.
I sound like some awful housewife with no life outside her kitchen.
I think I might make a picnic and take him on a date tomorrow.

-The Spirit failing miserably and Frank Miller never working again.

I went to a day spa yesterday.
It was nice. I got a hot oil massage, and a facial, and I was scrubbed and moisturized, and then I bathed in virgins blood ala Elizabeth Bathory milk and roses, to keep my skin looking young. And they bought me strawberries and tea to have in the bath.
I want to live there.
Their massages make regular massages feel like torture.

Er. Nothing else has been happening. Marly is teaching me to skate board. It's painful.
I'm going to Movieworld for Halloween. I don't know what to dress as yet. I might go to Lismore in the week and look at patterns. I will also hang with Miriam if she's free.

[Poll #1277019]

I also need to make Indie a costume. I might have a little party for him. We'll do pumpkin carving and halloween related arts and crafts.

I feel like I should add that by Birdgirl, I mean Birdgirl from Harvey Birdman, and by Cowgirl I mean a girl with a hat and guns and boots who robs trains.
Not, you know, a girl covered in feathers/girl dressed in cow print.

I feel really down lately.
With Miriam moving, and Will moving, and Tegan being so busy and never wanting to hang.
I hate it.
But I've been so busy, even if I did have friends I wouldn't be able to hang out with them. I've worked 45 hours this week. That's like, full time.
I bought some books with the money.

Tomorrow I have nothing to do though, so I'm going to make a picnic and go out with the boys. The weather is nice lately.

Cool story, Hansel.

Um, I went to visit Miriam on Friday.
We went out for dinner and then went to the Winsome.
It was fun. I don't think I usually like the Winsome, because the music is so bad and the people are so old, but it went okay.
I kind of like Lismore sometimes. Everyone just seems so... real, you know? I don't even know if that's a good thing. I guess I just liked going out and not being surrounded by skeezy guys, german tourists and drunk teens.
Oh, there was that one skeeze. Something about tall drinks? It's pretty hazy, but I remember he was really creepy and was trying to get into the girls toilet? Because seeing girls on the toilet would be really sexy, I guess.
Then we went out to breakfast with Amy and shopped.
I liked the comic book shop. They had a pretty good selection of back issues. Nothing that new, and novels were like $30, but I found some Spoiler comics I'd been looking on eBay for and they were really cheap.

The weather has been so nice the past couple of days.
I might go to the beach tomorrow and kite fly if the wind's good.

Marly asked me who my top five heroes and villains from DC/Vertigo were this morning. It was hard.
I don't know.
I'm just totally hating on comic books at the moment.
I re-read The Killing Joke yesterday, and I mean, I like Alan Moore. He's clever and witty and generally just a good writer. But he's just another jerk-off who uses rape and the degradation of women as a plot device.
I get bummed out because it seems like they don't want female fans. I mean, if the kill/maim/de-power our favourite characters eventually we'll go away, right?
Eh.

Villains.
+ Lady Shiva
+ Goldilocks
+ Mad Hatter
+ Onomatopoeia
+ Black Adam

Heroes.
+ Black Canary
+ Spoiler/Robin
+ Robin/Nightwing
+ Green or Red Arrow
+ Blue Beetle or Booster Gold

Maybe change Onomatopoeia to Catman, depending on how he goes in Kevin Smith Batman arch. I'm loving Catman lately.
Or just everything Gail Simone writes, ever.

Man, I watched Goblet of Fire earlier, and RPattz is so fine.

Glitter Photos

I can not wait for Twilight.
It will bring epic lulz.
But swooning at the same time.

No other news.
I went shopping and bought cute beige shoes/clothes.
Marly's working at Splendour.
I made a delicious turkey sandwich earlier.

ETA:
I'm going to see the Pineapple Express on the weekend.
Clearly THIS is the most anticipated movie of the year, and NOT the Dark Knight.

What bad timing, huh? With all these new people starting to read Batman, and they're in the middle of R.I.P.
The more I read it, the surer I become that Morrison has lost his mind.
